A paper entitled “Valence Band of Co/Cu thin film studied with Synchrotron Radiation Photoemission Spectroscopy” by Soma Banik, S.K. Deb, Sonali Barman, G.P. Das, D.M. Phase and S.K. Rai, presented at “7th International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation in Material Science (SRMS-7)” organized by Diamond Light Source, Oxford, UK, during July 11-14, 2010 bagged the “Best Poster Presentation Prize”. There is special mention in the prize certificate that the judges were particularly impressed with the range of techniques that were used to characterize the samples and the results that were backed up with the theoretical calculations. The award carries a prize of “Apple 2GB i-pod”.
