Silicate
glass based picosecond laser chain
|
This was a high power laser chain based on neodymium doped YAG-Silicate glass. The oscillator consisted of a commercial ( M/S
Continuum, USA ) Nd:YAG picosecond laser delivering 75 millijoule energy in 200
picoseconds, operating with a rep-rate ranging from 5-10 Hz. A two stage amplifier chain based on silicate glass amplifiers followed the oscillator. Like in other laser chains, the control system for this chain was also PC based. The laser gave energy of about 1 J in 200ps in a single shot mode. This laser has been decomissioned in 2005.
